Featuring:
Shaun Tuazon, Benjamin Cole, Matt Maretz, Krista Fealock and Lauren Clough

Music by Robert Reale
Book and lyrics by Willie Reale
Based on the books by Arnold Lobel
Directed by Becky Cherlin Baird

North Coast Rep brings Frog and Toad to Life!
Arnold Lobel's beloved characters hop from the page to the stage in this version of Robert and Willie Reale's Tony-nominated musical. This whimsical show follows two great friends -- the eternally optimistic Frog and the rather grumpy Toad -- through four, fun-filled seasons. Waking from hibernation in the Spring, Frog and Toad plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, go sledding, eat cookies and learn life lessons along the way.

These unlikely best friends come to understand it is their differences that make them unique and special. Whimsical and charming, A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD tells the story of a friendship that endures all seasons.

Adults: $20 Children: $16

Visions of Broadway

Visionary Musical Theatre Company proudly presents another installment of “Visions of Broadway”.  This year’s musical review celebrates the music of Kander and Ebb.  This musical duo has created such hit musicals as “Cabaret”, “Chicago”, “Kiss of the Spider Woman”, “Steel Pier” and “Fosse”.

Directed and Choreographed by Multi Award-Winning Michael Mizerany (Bravo San Diego's Outstanding Choreographer Award for 2012, 1994 Lester Horton Dance Award for Outstanding Individual Performance, nominee for 2012 Craig Noel Award for Outstanding Choreography).

Enjoy as VMTC delivers a powerful, smoldering, and provocative performance.  With the hot, sexy choreography of Michael Mizerany combined with the vocal power of core company members (such as critically-recognized, Broadway-bound Samantha Vesco and critically-recognized Jacob Davis), this show will surely arouse your attention.  Guest performers include the likes of the award-nominated Shaun Tuazon (2012 Craig Noel Award – Outstanding Lead Performance in a Musical, Male).  Come down and see our steamy Visions of Broadway!

Circle Circle dot dot's latest show, SAN DIEGO, I LOVE YOU has opened to the world and critics and audiences agree that's it's a lovely outing!

"Great production, and a completely new performance experience for me. Thank you so much - I thoroughly enjoyed it!" audience member, Kim P.

Critic James Herbert says, "'Love' a sweet stroll"!

"If you can, run over to see the wonderful company of Circle Circle dot dot and their new production "San Diego, I Love You"! I had an amazing time and want to say how beautifully written the scenes were and the joy I felt when I got to connect them all in the end!" audience member, Bryan B.

Audience member, Clarione G. gushes, "I just experienced one of the coolest things to do in San Diego right now. Circle Circle dot dot Theater Company just premiered their newest show "San Diego, I Love You", which presents itself in a completely unique way. It's not shown in an actual theater. In fact, it's all presented at various locations in Hillcrest. Each scene is presented in its intended locale (a wine bar, book store, coffee shop, etc.), so you start at one place and take a walking tour as a group to each location and see these scenes performed in public. It's really dynamic and a little voyeuristic too. ;) Kinda like you're eavesdropping on a conversation (but you're allowed to). It's also really fun and a truly unique way to enjoy theater. Not to mention, the story is really sweet and cute too."

"Circle Circle dot dot, that scrappy little theater that specializes in telling local stories, offers a romantic walking tour of some of those difficult interpersonal exchanges.....The stories are often funny, usually familiar, always engaging... get your tickets now" critic Jean Lowerison.

Run to get your tickets to this one-of-a-kind romantic theatrical experience that is, "SAN DIEGO, I LOVE YOU"

Tonight is the night! The 2013 Craig Noel Awards ceremony is tonight and I cannot wait to see all the fabulous theatre artists in San Diego together to celebrate one another.

It's still a bit unreal that I'm even nominated, but I'm excited and extremely grateful for the recognition. My fellow nominees are powerhouse performers and I bow down to each and every one of them.

I am nominated for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Musical - Male for Circle Circle dot dot's, "DECONSTRUCTION OF A DRAG QUEEN".

Another show I was in has a nomination too! My dear friend, Michael Mizerany's choreography for Altar Boyz is up for Outstanding Choreography in a Musical.

Best of luck and congratulations to all the nominees and all the winners! See you at the ceremony!

So... I didn't make it passed the Cub Scout level, but I remember thinking my experience was okay. I do remember wishing my little soap box derby car went faster...

I can't believe we're approaching Closing Weekend!

My first foray as director was fun and a new challenge for me. But like a told a friend recently, "There's something really cool about having actors be your puppets."

I couldn't have done it without the support of my amazing choreographer, Michael Mizerany. He brought my vision to life! And of course, the exquisite playwright, Delia Knight.

And I cannot forget to mention the awesome trio that makes up GLOW, Soroya Rowley, Justin Warren Martin, and Patrick Kelly. They were fearless and incredibly open to anything and everything Michael and I threw at them. They used their imaginations to help paint the blank canvas so beautifully.

There are only three more chances to catch these 5 World-Premiere plays!

Please don't miss this chance!

A million 'Thank you's to all who have come out to see us!

"It's time for a SWITCH!"

Switch rehearsals have just begun and we have already come to the end. The Playwrights Project is remounting the show incredibly fast (only FOUR rehearsals)! We only have one left before our performance at the Hotel del Coronado and, I must say, we're doing pretty well.
Showtime is almost a week away and we're all very excited. Taylor, Olivia, and myself are having so much fun reprising our roles. Our new guy Michael is doing an awesome job switching from character to character with us. It's a difficult job but somebody's gotta do it!
I love seeing the team again, minus our fabulous director. Congrats to her and her husband on their bun in the oven! Tiffany is back as our stage manager and Chelsea has taken the reigns as director. And of course, it's wonderful to once again hear our mysterious game show host voice, Fred.
The show is a bit different this time around because we have limited theatrical abilities- ie no stage lights or a giant hanging gavel, but the show is just as effective and powerful as it's written. Many thanks to Lisa Kirazian for writing such a wonderful piece.

"Go go go, Joseph. You know what they say!"
Joseph rehearsals with San Diego Musical Theatre are quickly approaching as I race the clock to find me a set of wheels to get myself to and from rehearsals. We have been asked to be off book by the first rehearsal so I'm glad the show is relatively familiar to me (I played Joseph in high school). I can't wait to be a brother! I'll be playing that nasty youth, Benjamin, who is framed for having sticky fingers for a shiny golden cup.
I'm glad to know quite a few people in the show. It's always intimidating to walk into a rehearsal and not know anyone. It's like the first day of high school.

"It's the bitch of living
With nothing but your hand"

Spring Awakening has just been cast with the American Rose Theatre. I will be playing Georg in the adult cast! It's a really awesome opportunity to get to work along side the youth cast and help them grow as performers. One of the most exciting parts is getting to work with Ira Bauer-Spector and Patrick Marion on another show! The cast is strong and I think we'll do some great things in rehearsal and on stage.
Our first cast reading is this THURSDAY. So quick. So it looks like I am working on 3 shows at once! I may drop dead when all is said and done but I wouldn't trade these experiences for anything in the world.
