Bio:

Shaun Tuazon was nominated for a 2012 Craig Noel Award! San Diego Critics Circle nominated Shaun in the category of "Outstanding Lead Performance in a Musical, Male" for his role in Circle Circle dot dot's, "DECONSTRUCTION OF A DRAG QUEEN".
Currently, rehearsing for the World Premiere, THE LONELIEST GIRL IN THE WORLD, at Diversionary Theatre. Earlier in 2018, Shaun appeared in the San Diego Regional premiere of, VIETGONE, where he played the role of the Playwright/Bobby/Giai/Redneck Biker/Hippie Guy/Captain Chambers.
During the Summer of 2016, Shaun had the privilege to host and serve as production manager for the Summer Safari Asian Celebration at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park in Escondido. The show featured Chinese Acrobats, Bollywood dancers, Chinese Lion Dancers & Drummers.
In 2015, Shaun got to design in a brand new theatrical space for PRECIOUS LITTLE by Inner Mission Productions, a company who was then awarded "Best Outstanding Work for a Small Theatre Group". Shaun also got to perform in a dream role as Chip Tolentino in THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE and also made his debut at Lamb's Players Theatre as Chino in the iconic musical, WEST SIDE STORY, which gained much praise from audiences and critics and was extended three times.
2014 was an exciting year- closing a production of THE NUTCRACKER at New Village Arts and starting the year as Assistant Director for the Old Globe Theatre's production of BETHANY. Shaun also made his LA stage debut at Cabrillo Music Theatre in IN THE HEIGHTS which featured the original Broadway staging and choreography.
Upon returning to San Diego, Shaun worked with Breakthrough Workshop Theatre for DOG SEES GOD, DEAR HARVEY, & THE BREAKTHROUGH REVUE. He also got to do a slew of new musical and play readings including WE FOXES, PLUMBING, & COOKIES FOR PRISONERS.
In 2013, Shaun made history by participating in the FIRST annual San Diego Fringe Festival! Shaun was featured in featured in Circle Circle dot dot's "THE WARRIORS' DUET" and Breakthrough Workshop Theatre's "DEAR HARVEY"- both shows won Audience Pick Award by being the top-selling shows at their venues!
In 2013, Shaun was also seen in A YEAR WITH FROG & TOAD at North Coast Repertory Theatre, co-directed and designed DERBYWISE ans was featured in CCdd's site-specific theatrical event, "SAN DIEGO, I LOVE YOU" and was seen in Visionary Dance Theatre's, "VISIONS OF BROADWAY". Last December, Shaun made his directorial debut for CCdd's "STREET. ART. PROPHETS." Shaun directed Delia Knight's, "Glow".
Highlights of 2012 include STREET. ART. PROPHETS., ALTAR BOYZ, RENT, DECONSTRUCTION OF A DRAG QUEEN, & PINKALICIOUS.
ALTAR BOYZ was a highly-praised run at Diversionary Cabaret directed by Noah Longton. RENT (with San Diego Musical Theatre) featured an amazing cast which included original BROADWAY cast member, Gwen Stewart. DECONSTRUCTION OF A DRAG QUEEN opened and closed to SOLD OUT houses! PINKALICIOUS at North Coast Repertory Theatre was a re-mount of the successful first run of the Professional Theatre for Young Audiences series.
Shaun is probably most notably remembered in the San Diego Premiere production of the off-Broadway musical, ZANNA, DON'T! in which Shaun played the title role.
In 2011, Shaun was mentioned in the San Diego Gay & Lesbian News's "Best of Theatre Review" for his role in Diversionary Theatre's, DOOLEY.

Shaun has also enjoyed working with the Asian American Rep's production of short plays, Innerviews (featured in Francesca Sanders', URASHIMA TARO) & Compass Theatre, in San Diego, & Alameda Civic Light Opera in the Bay Area.
Off stage, Shaun is an avid whistler and loves to tear up the streets on his rollerblades. He loves turtles and Fridays.
