"It's time for a SWITCH!" Switch rehearsals have just begun and we have already come to the end. The Playwrights Project is remounting the show incredibly fast (only FOUR rehearsals)! We only have one left before our performance at the Hotel del Coronado and, I must say, we're doing pretty well. Showtime is almost a week away and we're all very excited. Taylor, Olivia, and myself are having so much fun reprising our roles. Our new guy Michael is doing an awesome job switching from character to character with us. It's a difficult job but somebody's gotta do it! I love seeing the team again, minus our fabulous director. Congrats to her and her husband on their bun in the oven! Tiffany is back as our stage manager and Chelsea has taken the reigns as director. And of course, it's wonderful to once again hear our mysterious game show host voice, Fred. The show is a bit different this time around because we have limited theatrical abilities- ie no stage lights or a giant hanging gavel, but the show is just as effective and powerful as it's written. Many thanks to Lisa Kirazian for writing such a wonderful piece. "Go go go, Joseph. You know what they say!" Joseph rehearsals with San Diego Musical Theatre are quickly approaching as I race the clock to find me a set of wheels to get myself to and from rehearsals. We have been asked to be off book by the first rehearsal so I'm glad the show is relatively familiar to me (I played Joseph in high school). I can't wait to be a brother! I'll be playing that nasty youth, Benjamin, who is framed for having sticky fingers for a shiny golden cup. I'm glad to know quite a few people in the show. It's always intimidating to walk into a rehearsal and not know anyone. It's like the first day of high school. "It's the bitch of living With nothing but your hand" Spring Awakening has just been cast with the American Rose Theatre. I will be playing Georg in the adult cast! It's a really awesome opportunity to get to work along side the youth cast and help them grow as performers. One of the most exciting parts is getting to work with Ira Bauer-Spector and Patrick Marion on another show! The cast is strong and I think we'll do some great things in rehearsal and on stage. Our first cast reading is this THURSDAY. So quick. So it looks like I am working on 3 shows at once! I may drop dead when all is said and done but I wouldn't trade these experiences for anything in the world. .:. shaun
